Richard T. Meena, President & Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of Montgomery Martin Contractors, Richard leads the executive team in the management and oversight of day-to-day company matters including all preconstruction and construction operations. Since joining the firm in 1996, Richard has focused heavily on client success utilizing preconstruction as the critical time to meet client goals. He is actively involved in the estimating process, and his deep knowledge of construction materials and methods helps to achieve a project that is not only constructible, but also economically responsible and of the highest possible quality. During construction, Richard ensures the needs of the on-site team are met through proper planning and communication.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, with additional studies in Building Science at Auburn University. He is an active member of Grace Evangelical Church and currently serves on the Board of Directors at Streets Ministries. Richard also previously served on the Board of Directors for the West Tennessee Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Randy Bratton, Executive Vice President

As Executive Vice President, Randy works with the executive team to manage all preconstruction and construction operations, companywide. This includes active involvement in preconstruction planning, budgeting, and owner-level oversight of construction projects and processes. Randy’s duties include operational leadership and management of short-term and long-term business development. As part of this work, Randy oversees project executives providing guidance of critical path items and monitors overall job costs. Since joining the firm in 1998, he has utilized his leadership abilities to bring projects to a successful conclusion for owners. 

Randy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mississippi State University and a Master of Arts from the University of Memphis. He is an active member at St. Patrick Presbyterian Church. 

Joel Thomas, Executive Vice President / Chief Administrative & Financial Officer

For over 22 years, Joel has provided fiduciary controls throughout Montgomery Martin Contractors. He is responsible for the supervision of all accounting personnel; development, maintenance, and monitoring of internal controls of financials; long and short-range planning and budgets; and provides oversight of financial and accounting reporting policies and procedures. He provides excellence in treasury management, information technology management and legal assistance, assuring our role as the fiduciary of our client’s investment is in the best interest of our clients. Additionally, Joel is heavily involved with all aspects of risk management.

Joel is a graduate of the University of Memphis earning a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting.  He is a member of Collierville United Methodist Church, is active in the Collierville Rotary Club, and serves as Treasurer for the Collierville Rotary Foundation. Additionally, Joel serves on the Construction Advisory Board at The University of Memphis and has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the West Tennessee Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Jeff Emerson, Executive Vice President & Chief Risk Management Officer

Serving as Chief Risk Management Officer, Jeff works with MMC’s project teams to ensure consistent project delivery standards, monitors internal project reporting, and assists project executives with any issues that may arise. He also ensures that all design and construction processes are executed to meet the contract requirements. Jeff was instrumental in the development of MMC’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program and oversees the day-to-day implementation of QA/QC process and reporting. He also plays an active role in MMC’s safety program ensuring that all construction operations are performed in a safe manner, companywide.

Jeff is a graduate of Murray State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Technology. He attends Redeemer Presbyterian Church, serves as an Industry Advisory Board member for Mississippi State University’s Building Construction Science program, and served as past Board President at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal School.

H. Montgomery Martin, Founder

Montgomery holds over 40 years of building construction experience serving as President and CEO of Montgomery Martin Contractors from the company’s inception in 1995 to 2021. In his current role, Montgomery works with the executive team to enhance the company’s business development goals and maintain current client relations. Additionally, he helps develop new markets, assists clients in early-stage financial feasibility in helping define project objectives during preconstruction.

Montgomery is a graduate of Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Building Science. He has served as a Board Director at WKNO, The Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Third Millennium Ministries. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute Memphis, Lambda Alpha International Land Economic Society, the Memphis Chamber's Chairman’s Circle and a former member of the Economic Development Growth Engine Steering Committee. Montgomery currently attends Downtown Church in Memphis, TN.
