H. Montgomery Martin, Founder and CEO
As President and CEO, Montgomery brings over 37 years of building construction management to the company. Currently, he coordinates and directs all aspects of the company’s objectives and policies. It is his responsibility to be certain that the company has the ability to make and keep all of its commitments. He works with the executive team to coordinate the company’s operations, finances, business development, and client relations. He fosters the development of new markets, assists with market initiatives and analyzes business growth opportunities. Montgomery also assists Owners and Architects in early-stage financial feasibility studies and defining project objectives. Montgomery is a graduate of Auburn University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Building Science. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute Memphis, Lambda Alpha International Land Economic Society, the Memphis Chamber's Circle and the Economic Development Growth Engine Steering Committee.
Montgomery is also an elder at Independent Presbyterian Church and serves on the Board of Directors at WKNO, Kiwanis International and Third Millennium Ministries.
Richard T. Meena, Vice-President
As a senior director in Pre-Construction, Richard's deep understanding of estimating, bidding and contracts provides the best value for our client’s construction dollar. Richard cares deeply about the success of client projects and he understands pre-construction is the place to meet client needs. He also works with project managers to accomplish innovative, economical solutions for potential budget-impact issues that arise during construction. Richard understands the needs of the on-site team are best met through proper planning of construction projects. His team works in concert with Architects and Owners to achieve a “project on a paper” that is not only constructible, but also economically responsible and of the highest possible quality. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi, with additional studies in Building Science at Auburn University.
Richard is an active member and Deacon of Independent Presbyterian Church. He is a volunteer coach for elementary school girls and boys basketball for Briarcrest Christian School. He serves on the Board of Directors at Streets Ministries and has served on the Board of Directors for ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors.)
Joel Thomas, Vice President / Chief Financial Officer
Joel provides fiduciary controls throughout Montgomery Martin. He is responsible for the supervision of all accounting personnel, development, maintenance and monitoring of internal controls, of financials, long and short range planning and budgets and provides oversight of financial and accounting reporting policies and procedures. Joel provides excellence in treasury management, information technology management and legal assistance, assuring our role as the fiduciary of our clients investment is in the best interest and meets the short and long term goals of our clients.
Joel is an active member of Collierville United Methodist Church and the local community and served as past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the West Tennessee Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.
Jeff Emerson, Vice President
As a former owner/manager of a construction company with over 30 years of industry experience, Jeff is familiar with all facets of construction and the business of construction. Serving as Director of Operations, Jeff works with Montgomery Martin's project management team to ensure consistent project delivery standards, monitors internal project reporting, and assists project managers with any issues that may arise. Jeff oversees all construction activities and works with the project team to create and implement all scheduled activities for the project. He also ensures that all design and construction processes are executed to meet the contract requirements. Prior to joining MMC, Jeff was involved in many noteworthy Memphis construction projects including the St. Jude Patient Care Facility, Research Tower and parking garage. Jeff is a graduate of Murray State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Technology.
Jeff is active at Idlewild Presbyterian Church and served as past Board President at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal School.
Randy Bratton, Vice President
As Vice President, Randy supervises daily operations and construction. Since joining the firm in 1998, he has been responsible for the pre-construction and day-to-day management of projects including all correspondence with Owner, Architect and Subcontractors.
He oversees project managers; provides guidance of critical path items; prepares contracts and payment applications; checks shop drawings; suggests value engineering; and monitors overall job costs. His experience runs deep and his leadership in bringing projects to a successful conclusion for owners is second to none.
Randy has faithfully coached basketball for many years at Westminster Academy. He is also a member, as well as Deacon and serves on the building committee at St. Patrick's Presbyterian.
Charlie Jenne, General Superintendent Field Operations
As general superintendent, Charlie oversees and coordinates all field management, logistics and safety oversight for the company. He is adept at the management of field assets and resources, starting with the project field leadership he coordinates, mentors and guides each day. He is passionate about the safety of everyone on every project and under his leadership has impacted Montgomery Martin projects in such a way that ensures a culture of safety, highest quality work and client care. He is responsible for assigning company superintendents and field workers to ensure the best use of talent and labor; coordination of materials for each job site; and overseeing all projects to ensure projects meet schedules, budget and quality standards in a safe manner.
